Yesterday, the Loyola Meralco Sparks played to a 3-3 draw against Stallion Laguna FC, a fellow contender in the upcoming Philippines Football League. After the match, head coach Aris Caslib was quick to evaluate the aspects of the performance that needed work.
“We struggled,” said Caslib. “It’s our first away match. I think Stallion is well-organized and they are very good with their transition plays”.
“We struggled in that aspect, but one good thing is it gives us the assignment to work on. Lastly, when we were able to get the momentum, we lost it again through lack of concentration.” added Caslib.
Despite the areas of improvement, the club’s new mentor believes the team is moving in the right direction as the League draws closer.
“I think everyone is doing their job right now. That’s the most important thing. Then what we want to achieve in the end is to have a well-organized team. We just have to wait and see.”
The Sparks will return to action in the upcoming Stallion Cup, which will be held at Biñan Football Stadium from March 15-24, 2017.
